Keeping Fit and Healthy on a Tight Budget After Retirement

Looking forward to Retiring? Usually we dream of doing nothing. We envision our lives being a lot simpler. There is the thought of not having to see your demanding boss again. So the prospect of retiring is the ultimate reward after working for so many years.
Retiring is a goal many people look forward to, but they do not think of staying healthy after they do. The necessary evils of getting up every day for five or six days every week for several years is never taken into consideration. These days for all these years are done by achieving some form of exercise. Think about it. When you rush to get the bus or you have to climb the stairs if your building has problems from time to time with the elevator, or there is no elevator at your job. These are things you do, and you don't ever consider as exercise.
Movement, any movement whatsoever is a part of exercising. Planning other things in your daily routine after you retire will be beneficial to you. Apart from doing the dishes, making the beds, vacuuming, walking the dog, if you have one, you can learn to dance. Taking a "Belly Dancing Course," will not only be fun, it will work on your abs, tone your legs and arms and also give you excellent rhythm on the dance floor the next time you and your significant other go out for a special night. These things can be sourced through your local clubs. I know that this is not the run of the mill idea for exercising, but think out of the box, you will not regret it.
Helping out at a library with toddlers can also be another way to keep fit. You can read to them, take them to the park as part of their everyday activity, by walking you will in turn get the necessary exercise you need. Thing about it and they will learn so much from you about your various experiences in life, which can help to shape their future. The run of the mill aerobic classes should not be for you. They can be so boring, but if you challenge yourself and do something different, then you will feel so rewarded.
Volunteer to be a part of your grand children's camping experience be a counselor or be one of their swimming coaches. Getting out in the open air will aid in your heart and lung functions. If you were a smoker this is an excellent way to improve on your respiratory system, if you usually work in the city where there is smog or polluted air, what a blessing this can be. You are retired so go for it!
Retirement does not have to be dull. It is what you do spending time with your family doing the things you never had time to do while you were working, will be an excellent opportunity to get the exercise you need. Be selfish with them while having fun!
